While Rhonda is out recovering from her Mommy Makeover with Dr. Huffaker this week, one of our wonderful nurses here at St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery, Di, will share her thoughts on the Mommy Makeover she received from Dr. Prada.
What made you decide to have a Mommy Makeover in the first place?
The stretch marks and wrinkled skin on my stomach, along with my small breasts. I was uncomfortable in my own body. After having kids, it was hard to find clothes to hide my tummy, especially if the shirts were short. I really just wanted my clothes to fit better and to have more confidence.
What were your thoughts immediately after surgery?
“Dr. Prada isn’t just another pretty face–aside from walking on water, he can perform body miracles!” Instantly, I had flat abs and the wrinkled, saggy skin that bothered me so much was gone. Breast size? Perfect.
What difference did the surgery make in your self-confidence level?
I was able to wear a bikini for the first time in nine years! My boyfriend (now husband) no longer had to keep the lights off in the bedroom. I could wear whatever I wanted and feel confident that my breasts could now fill out my top, and I didn’t have to worry that my tummy might show through.
How did your friends and family feel about your choice? How did their reactions affect you?
They were both supportive and jealous. If at first they acted like I didn’t need the procedure, afterwards, they wanted to do it as well. They understood that I was uncomfortable in my own skin. But ultimately, their reactions didn’t affect me at all. I was ready to do what I knew was good for me.
What advice would you give to someone considering a mommy makeover?
Go into it with the right mindset. Cosmetic surgery is REAL surgery. You will have some discomfort, you will have swelling. Follow your doctor’s instructions and you will be happy. Be patient. And know that doing both your breasts and your tummy all at once saves you money and down time.
Would you do it again? Is there anything you would do differently?
I would do it again in a heartbeat! I wouldn’t change a thing. It exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t have been happier.
