Rapid Recovery Approach
Recovery is one of the main concerns for patients when deciding on aesthetic surgery. St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery is here to alleviate the fear of recovery using our Rapid Recovery Approach. This approach aims to reduce downtime and speed up the healing process. The Rapid Recovery Approach involves using gentle and skillful techniques to help minimize tissue damage, bleeding, and bruising, making your recovery as comfortable as possible. Below, we have more information on each of these techniques.
Minimal Tissue Dissection
The main principle behind our Rapid-Recovery Approach is minimizing tissue damage during the dissection. Our board-certified surgeons focused on technique when dissecting tissue. Therefore, by using this technique, our surgeons reduce pain and swelling while speeding up recovery time.
Pain Pump or Exparel®
In addition to minimizing tissue trauma, some of our surgeons offer a pain pump after surgery to help further reduce discomfort. The pain pump contains a local anesthetic in the treatment area for two to three days after surgery. This pump will help numb any postoperative pain, reduce nausea, and improve the overall comfort of our patients.
If your surgeon does not offer a pain pump, another option is Exparel. Exparel is an intramuscular injection that numbs the area for up to three days. Exparel eliminates the need for pain pump extraction and is injected during your procedure.
Personalized Care
The team at St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery treats each patient like family. Each patient is provided with one of our three full-time Patient Care Coordinators who are there for you every step. Pam, Cindy, or Lilly will meet with you to thoroughly discuss the recovery process and answer any questions you may have through your preoperative and postoperative care.
